What we collect and why
Your email address
When you ask for a free page or join our list, we store your email to send you the files and, at most once a month, news about new designs. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent.
Order details
Payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record (or by Etsy for Etsy orders). They collect your name, email, billing country and payment details to complete the purchase, prevent fraud and handle tax. We receive your name, email and what you bought so we can deliver files and help with support. We never see or store your card number. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without cookies and without identifying you — no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles.
Things stored in your browser
The site remembers your light or dark theme choice and whether you already got the free page, in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and you can clear it any time.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers, only for the purposes above:
- our payment reseller and Merchant of Record, or Etsy — orders and payments;
- an email service provider — sending free pages and the newsletter;
- our hosting and content delivery provider — serving this website.
Some of them are located outside your country, including in the United States; they protect data under standard contractual safeguards. We never sell or rent your personal data.
How long we keep it
Your email stays on our list until you unsubscribe. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support emails are deleted when no longer needed.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop emailing you. If you are in the EU, UK or California you have these rights by law, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority. Write to hello@paintnook.com — we answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be announced by email to subscribers.
